Hub RTP Comes to Life With First Wave of Restaurants
|
▷ Driving the news
RTP is finally starting to feel different. And if you’ve ever been out there during lunch or after work, you know it hasn’t always had a ton going on.
But wait until you see what’s opening now.
After more than $100 million invested, Hub RTP is beginning to come to life with new restaurants, shops, and gathering spaces right in the middle of the park.
Let me break down what’s actually opening, because this is a big shift for how people experience RTP.
▷ Restaurants are finally arriving
One of the first to open is Cheeni Indian Food Emporium, led by a two-time James Beard semifinalist chef.
And it’s just the beginning.
More concepts are already on the way, including High Horse, a restaurant coming back to life after closing during COVID, with plans for a show kitchen and central stage design.
Another big name?
A Michelin-starred chef is also opening a new concept in the district.
▷ Why this is a big deal for RTP
RTP has around 22 million square feet of commercial space, making it one of the largest workplace hubs in the region.
But for years, it hasn’t had the same level of restaurants, nightlife, or social spaces you’d find in downtown Raleigh or Durham.
That’s exactly what this project is trying to change.
▷ A new vision for the park
The goal behind Hub RTP is to create a more walkable, social, and experience-driven environment, with open public spaces designed for both workers and visitors.
And with a hotel planned nearby, the area could start attracting even more activity beyond the typical workday.
▷ Why this matters for the Triangle
Here’s the big picture.
Thousands of people come into RTP every single day.
Now, instead of workers leaving right after their shifts, there may finally be a reason to stay, eat, and linger.
